WAST ASSOCIATED MEMBERS

The partnership for the WAST project consists of 6 organizations from 5 different countries (Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Poland & Ukraine) representing different organisations and institutions and implementing a cross-sectorial approach:

  • Education and Training organisations (including organisations with expertise in developing software and e-learning results)
  • Universities
  • Youth organizations & NGOs working in the field of education, civic participation and supporting young people with fewer opportunities

The main aim of the Foundation is the prevention of unemployment and fostering economic development by the implementation of educational and counselling programs, targeted at inhabitants of the region. It has been attained through two basic streams:

  • Unique enterprises (courses, seminars, conferences, counselling, complex projects) addressed to SME owners, professionals, certain underprivileged groups in the community, aiming at the creation of employment and self-employment opportunities, dissemination of knowledge, good practices and human resources development.
  • Training services, both for individuals, interested in acquiring new skills or qualifications and companies/institutions ordering tailored training for their employees.

Centre for Competence Development Cyprus-COMCY was established in 2014 in Nicosia, as a non-for-profit Training, Research and Development organization, active in the field of project management, training and consulting. Our vision is to foster the social and business competencies of various target groups of the society (individuals; experts and beneficiaries and organizations) through innovative training solutions and methods. The main aspects and expertise of COMCY are:

  • Previous experience in training and development activities (EU and National level);
  • Expertise in the areas required and level of competence on it;
  • Access to the direct and indirect target groups as it has an established network among the experts.

NGO Donetsk oblast youth civic organisation “Youth Initiative of Cities” (YIC) is a sustainable and impactful country-wide organisation in Ukraine. The organisation unites progressive youth with critical thinking, actively building a cohesive civil society.

Since 2011, we have supported young people and allowed them to develop their leadership potential. Our team has organised many local, national and international projects.

Our projects aim to develop a vibrant civil society, implement non-formal education and volunteering, promote international cooperation and social actions on the local level, support sustainable development goals, promote human rights and support socially disadvantaged groups.

The YIC is an organisation which creates, helps, initiates, teaches and inspires young Ukrainian people.

Authentic and proven, Ergon is the Piedmont’s social organization working to respond to the protection, health and wellbeing needs of Deaf, hard of hearing, deafened and DeafBlind (D/Deaf) especially in low resource and complex humanitarian settings.

We work to ensure that D/deaf are able to live safely and without fear of stigma, discrimination and abuse in the communication mode of choice; Sign Language, sign supported spoken language, community ethnic sign, aural method and Tactile Sign Language.

Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) was established in 1952, and it is associated with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI). Since then, NCCI went through various stages of development which led to its present structure, which is the most successful form of organization of the Nicosia enterprises.

It is a non-profit organization, financially independent. The chamber is governed by a 20-member council that is elected by its members. The Nicosia Chamber is represented at the CCCI through its elected representatives.

Today, over 1250 local and 270 international companies are registered to the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Besides, the town and district of NCCI also covers geographically the town of Kyrenia and the area of Morphou. The field of tourism is one of the core priorities for NCCI

Cyberno is a non-profit organization which covers the problem of digital illiteracy in Greece providing social education to teachers, parents and children aiming the development of the children digital skills. The main aspects and expertise of Cyberno are:

  • to empower every citizen with digital skills;
  • to develop an intelligent society, starting today with the creation of digitally gifted children;
  • to develop to every beneficiary the technical, social, and mental skills needed in order to be able to distinguish as a user in digital media and become an intelligent digital citizen.
